Where should I put a crib in the nursery?

Short answer: Place the cot away from radiators, direct sunlight and blind cords.
  • Use a mattress made to fit that crib exactly.
  • If it rocks or glides, check there is a lock and use it for sleep where the instructions say to.
  • Check the weight and stage limits.

What the guidance says

  • Never use a hot water bottle or electric blanket, and do not place the cot next to a radiator, heater or fire, or in direct sunlight.
