Can a 6 month old sleep in a toddler bed?
Short answer: No. A baby needs a cot, crib or Moses basket that follows safer-sleep advice. Toddler beds are for after the cot years.
Babies change fast, so the answer depends on your child's age, weight and development, and on your product's instructions.
What the guidance says
- Use a firm, flat, waterproof mattress in good condition, with no raised or cushioned edges, that fits the cot or Moses basket with no gaps.
- Follow safer-sleep advice for every sleep until your baby is 12 months old (12 months from the due date for premature babies).
