Small nursery layout ideas that keep sleep safe
Step by step
- Consider a cot rather than a longer cot bed if floor space is tight.
- Use vertical, wall-fixed storage.
- A cot-top changer saves floor space. Take it off before sleep.
What the guidance says
- If a full cot will not fit, the Lullaby Trust suggests a travel cot, set up with the same safer-sleep advice.
- Place the cot away from radiators, direct sunlight and blind cords.
- Never use a hot water bottle or electric blanket, and do not place the cot next to a radiator, heater or fire, or in direct sunlight.
