Will a nursing chair fit in a small nursery?

Short answer: Allow space to rock or glide without hitting the cot or walls. Leave space to walk round it and open drawers and doors.
  • Sit in it, or check the seat height and depth, so your feet rest flat and your arms are supported.
  • Gliders and rockers can help with settling. Keep them away from where toddlers play.
  • Never fall asleep with your baby in a chair.

What the guidance says

  • Place the cot away from radiators, direct sunlight and blind cords.
